In collaboration with Tahoe-based artist, Kelly Smith Cassidy, Sprocket created a 6ft tall aspen tree for the new Desolation Hotel in South Lake Tahoe.

Sprocket laser cut over 350 leather aspen leaves and hand-dyed each one. Every leaf was mounted to the metal base to create the centerpiece of the Desolation Hotel reception area. The tree is secured in a raw boulder base that Sprocket sourced from a friend’s property in Northern Nevada. The boulder was cored by local artist, Aric Shapiro.

The Desolation Aspen was installed in July 2022.
